1965 Porsche 356C Coupe is up for auction

Another example of Porsche’s first production car, the 1965 Porsche 356C coupe, is up for auction. It is the last revision of the 356 model that was introduced in 1964, the same year that Porsche introduced its successor, the now legendary 911 model.

This car is powered by a replacement engine taken from a 1960 356B Super. In 2018, the engine was overhauled and a light starter with a transmission reducer was installed, and the accessory belt, generator pulleys, and distributor cap and points were replaced. Two years later, the engine received a big bore kit which increased the displacement to 1,720cc. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a four-speed manual transmission.

Porsche 356C is finished in white and is in good condition. It is equipped with a rear luggage rack, a twin-grille deck lid, pop-out quarter windows, and body-color bumpers with chrome accents in addition to dual exhaust outlets that exit through the rear overriders, and disc brakes on all four wheels. It is mounted on 15″ steel wheels wrapped in 195/65 Toyo Extensa A/S tires.

Inside, the seats are trimmed in black vinyl, which also covers the door panels and the upper part of the dashboard. In front of the driver is a three-spoke steering wheel behind which is a five-digit odometer showing 7,052 miles (total odometer unknown). Additional equipment includes sound insulation kit, replacement turn signal relay, door window crank springs, felt strips, and Blaupunkt AM/FM cassette stereo and Pioneer speakers.

In 2018, the car was serviced which included replacement of brake rotors, pads, hoses, shocks, bump stops, and sway bar bushings.

The car comes with a driver’s manual, partial service records, and a clean California title in the owner’s name.

The auction ends on December 19 and the highest bid at the time of writing was USD $38,000.

Audi R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition

Two years ago, Audi began phasing out its internal combustion engine-powered sports car, the Audi R8, and transitioning to an all-electric model. It started with the Australian market, and then others followed, and in September the manufacturer announced the arrival of the all-electric R8. However, the official end will be marked by the Audi R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition, the last version of this car to be powered by ICE.

The car will be powered by a 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine with 612 hp (456 kW) and 428 lb-ft (580 Nm) of torque. The same engine powers the R8 V10 GT RWD, but this later version has a seven-speed S-tronic transmission that sends power to all wheels.

The R8 Coupe Japan Final Edition is finished in matte white with black side air intakes for cooling the rear brakes and black side mirror cups, while the rear part features a black spoiler. Inside, the seats are in a combination of black and beige Nappa leather, while the ceiling is covered in Alcantara. There’s also Alabaster White accents, diamond stitching, and “Japan Final Edition (1 of 8)” plaques on the door sills.

Audi will produce only 8 copies of this car and each one will cost 225,389 euros.

Drag race: Tesla Cybertruck v F-150 Raptor R v Lamborghini Urus

Drag racing has been popular for a long time, but lately there are more and more powerful new production cars competing. One such “fight” was organized by the guys from the YouTube channel Carwow, putting the Tesla Cybertruck, Ford F-150 Raptor R and Lamborghini Urus on the line.

Although the Tesla Cybertruck looks weird at first glance, it is a really powerful car. It is offered in three versions of the powertrain, and the most powerful has three electric motors with a total power of 845 hp (630 kW) and 686 lb-ft (930 Nm) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in 2.6 seconds with a top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).

The Lamborghini Urus is a powerful sports SUV powered by a 4.0L biturbo V8 engine with 650 hp (478 kW) and 627 lb-ft (850 Nm) of torque. With all-wheel drive it reaches 62 mph (100 km/h) in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 305 km/h (190 mph).

The Ford F-150 Raptor R is a powerful pickup powered by a supercharged 5.2-liter V-8 engine with 700 hp (522 kW) and 640 lb-ft (868 Nm) of torque. It reaches 60 mph in about 5.2 seconds with a top speed of 114 mph (183 km/h). Power is sent to all wheels via a 10-speed automatic transmission.

Cybertruck vs Urus

At the standard 1/4 mile, on the newly constructed road next to Tesla’s GigaFactory, the Lamborghini Urus stood no chance against the Cybertruck. In every race, the Tesla car was too fast for the Urus, even though the drivers switched cars. The Tesla Cybertruck covered the 1/4 mile in 11.2 seconds, while the Lamborghini took 12.3 seconds.

From 30 mph, over the same distance, the Tesla was again unbeatable. As well as from 40 mph, even when the Urus started one second before the Cybertruck. Braking was the advantage of the Urus. From 70 mph the Urus managed to stop in a shorter distance than the Cybertruck which needed a few more meters even though it was using mud tires.

Cyberturk vs Ford F-150 Raptor R

At the standard 1/4 mile, the Cybertruck showed its power and left the F-150 Raptor R far behind. The Raptor R was in line with the Tesla in the first ten meters, but after that it had no chance. The Tesla Cybertruck covered the 1/4 mile in 11.2 seconds while the F-150 Raptor R took 12.4 seconds. From 20 mph, the Tesla was far faster than the Raptor R. From 70 mph, the Tesla managed to stop in a shorter distance than the F-150 Raptor R, which needed 20 meters more.

Tesla Cybertruck has shown that it is a very good car, but also why over 2 million units have been ordered so far.
