2025 VW ID. GTI Concept

In 1974, Volkswagen started production of one of its most popular cars, the VW Golf, and two years later, the popular GTI version arrived on the market. Since then, eight generations of this model have been introduced with different powertrain options. 47 years later, Volkswagen unveiled its first all-electric GTI, the VW ID. GTI Concept.

“We have realigned Volkswagen over the course of recent months. Our actions are always focused on the question of what customers expect from us. The complete range of our new orientation will be visible for the first time at the IAA Mobility. Volkswagen is delivering what customers want: whether electric, combustion engine or hybrid vehicles – all our new models impress with enjoyable efficiency, intuitive operation and high quality that is evident in all areas. In this way, we are meeting our promise of once more focusing completely on customer needs,” said Thomas Schäfer, CEO of Volkswagen Passenger Cars.

With a length of 4.10 m, a width of 1.84 m and a height of 1.50 m, the new GTI is close in dimensions to the VW Polo. A modern muscular but not aggressive design, by Andreas Mindt, brings the DNA of previous generations into the new electric era. An almost closed front grill and IQ.LIGHT LED matrix headlights adorn the front of the car. Additional equipment includes a sporty GTI bumper, GTI roof spoiler, GTI tail light clusters and a rear diffuser. It will be mounted on 20″ wheels wrapped in 245/35 R20 tires.

Inside, futuristic design, 10.9 inch display in front of the driver, centrally located 12.9 inch touch screen, augmented reality head-up display that shows the data spectrum on the windshield, multifunctional steering wheel with GTI button that switches the background lighting and all displays to the color GTI Red Turbo, and many other technological solutions are part of this vehicle of the future.

Volkswagen is currently silent when it comes to the car’s powertrain, which should hit the market in 2025. However, if we go back in time, the first rumors about this car said that it could have 230 hp (), which would be quite good. Whether that will happen remains to be seen.

2023 ZEEKR 001 FR

After announcing the arrival of its flagship sedan ZEEKR 001 on the European market, the Chinese company recently presented a more powerful version of this car, the ZEEKR 001 FR.

The car is equipped with a lightweight body kit that includes a front splitter, sills, rear diffuser, a large rear wing and side mirror housings, a 100 kWh battery that charges from 10 to 80 percent capacity in just 15 minutes, 800V technology, front 420 mm Brembo carbon- ceramic discs with AP Racing ten-pistons, rear 410 mm discs with four-piston calipers.

The ZEEKR 001 FR is powered by four electric motors with a total power of 1,248 hp (918 kW) and 944 lb-ft (1,280 Nm) of torque. That’s enough power for this supercar to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.07 seconds with a top speed of 280 km/h (174 mph). It is mounted on 22-inch alloy wheels with high-performance tires.

The company believes that this car could be a serious competitor to the Tesla Model S Plaid. How realistic it is, it’s hard to say. As a reminder, Model S Plaid is powered by three electric motors with a total power of 1,020 hp (750 kW) and 1,047 lb-ft (1,420 Nm) of torque, with a range of 396 miles. This 2,190 kg heavy car reaches 60 mph in 1.99 seconds with a top speed of 200 mph (322 km / h).

2024 Cupra DarkRebel

Cupra has unveiled its new car that is entirely created in virtual space, for the future generation of drivers, the Cupra DarkRebel. This all-electric two-seater pushes the boundaries of design and performance, and is the company’s most powerful car.

Almost 300k configurations of members of the Cupra tribe were used in the creation of its futuristic design. This is a new approach in car design and a way for the company to connect as much as possible with new potential customers. The car has outstanding technology that inspires passion and demonstrates the rebellious mindset of the Cupra brand. It has more than 450 hp (331 kW) which is enough to push it to 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 4 seconds.

“The CUPRA DarkRebel condenses all of the brand’s DNA and values. With wider shoulders, a long bonnet and lower cabin focused on the driver. It stands for people who love to drive and not be driven. The CUPRA Dark Rebel is designed to enter a new dimension where desire, emotion and pushing without limits are our obsession,” said Cupra design director Jorge Diez.

Sharp lines and a triangular lighting concept, which are then applied as DRLs (Daytime Running Lights), adorn the front of the DarkRebel. The side shows the connection of the body with the front and back through channels that reveal all the technical elements, as a symbol of the relationship between exterior and interior. The interior allows the driver to experience the incredible performance of the Cupra DarkRebel on the road.
