Porsche expanded its fleet with Macan RWD and Macan 4S

After the presentation of the new generation Porsche Macan (Macan 4 and Macan Turbo) at the beginning of the year, which went into production in May, the German manufacturer expanded the fleet of this model with two new versions, Macan with RWD and Macan 4S with AWD.

Both new versions come with adaptive air suspension and electronically controlled shock absorbers (PASM) with the option of a steering system on the rear axle. Also, the Macan 4S is equipped with the electronically controlled Porsche Traction Management traction control system, with which the Porsche Torque Vectoring Plus torque distribution system can be obtained as an option. They are equipped with an 800-volt architecture and a 100 kWh lithium-nickel-manganese battery that can be charged from 10 to 80 percent within approximately 21 minutes at a suitable fast-charging station.

The Porsche Macan is powered by a rear-mounted single electric motor with 340 hp/254 kW (360 hp/268 kW and 395 lb-ft/536 Nm of torque in overboost). That is enough to reach from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.4 seconds with a top speed of 219 km/h (136 mph). Thanks to rear-wheel drive, this version is the lightest in the range (110 kg lighter than the Macan 4), so it is assumed to offer a longer range than the Macan 4 (613 km/380 miles).

The Macan 4S is powered by two electric motors with a total output of 449 hp /335 kW (517 hp/385 kW and 578 lb-ft/784 Nm of torque in overboost). It reaches 100 km/h (62 mph) in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 240 km/h (149 mph). That means it’s a second faster than the Macana 4 and 0.8 seconds faster than the Macana Turbo.

Also, Porsche took the opportunity to offer customers an optional off-road package that provides greater opportunities for those who want to experience rough terrain. The package includes a redesigned front bumper thanks to which the maximum approach angle is 17.5 degrees, matching elements on the sills and diffuser, underbody protection in body color and Vesuvius gray, and thanks to the air suspension, the possibility of increasing the ground clearance by an additional 10 mm. There are also new five-spoke 21-inch wheels in Vesuvius Grey. It should also be noted that all parts are compatible with all versions of the Macan.

Inside, the Porsche Driver Experience offers a 12.6-inch curved-design instrument cluster and the 10.9-inch central display, with new graphics and animations for the screens. The new Themes app allows the driver to customize the background color of the screen and ambient lighting to match the vehicle’s body color.

When it comes to prices, Porsche has not announced the prices of the new versions. As a reminder, the Macan 4 costs €83,993 in Germany, while the Macan Turbo costs €114,576.
