2013 Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 W04 is up for auction

On January 7, 1985, the most successful Formula 1 driver in history, Lewis Hamilton, was born. In his career so far, he has achieved 103 victories and 7 championship titles, as many as the legend of this sport, Michael Schumacher. He achieved his first victory in the new team in 2013, and the Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 W04 car he drove in the race for the Hungarian Grand Prix is up for auction.

The F1 W04 was the last Mercedes F1 car to be powered by a naturally aspirated 2.4 liter V8 engine with 750 + 80 hp (559 + 60 kW) @ 18,000 rpm, which was later replaced by a Mercedes-Benz V6 engine. The engine is paired with an Xtrac 7-speed semi-automatic transmission.

The car has chassis number 4, the same one in which Hamilton took pole position and then won the Hungarian Grand Prix during a season dominated by Sebastian Vettel at Red Bull Racing. It was the second team in his Formula 1 career, and before moving to Mercedes, Hamilton was part of the McLaren team for six full seasons.

At the time of writing, an auction date has not been announced, and the car is estimated at $10,000,000 – $15,000,000 USD.

1963 Ferrari 250 GT/L Berlinetta Lusso is up for auction

In 1962, Ferrari introduced a car that is considered one of the most elegant Ferraris, the Ferrari 250 GT (also known as the 250 GT/L or Luso). It was produced until 1964 and only 351 units left the production lines. One of them, a 1963 Ferrari 250 GT/L Berlinetta Lusso is up for auction.

This 250 GT/L is finished in Grigio Notte and is in good condition. In 2014, the car was restored by JD Classics of Maldon, Essex, which included rebuilding the engine and installing a new timing chain, pistons, rings, main bearings, and exhaust valves, while the crankshaft was reground. It has a steel body manufactured by Carrozzeria Scaglietti, while the doors, boot lid, and bonnet are made of aluminum. This model is the first Ferrari with a small integrated spoiler and Kammback rear.

Inside, the seats are covered in quilted red leather that also covers the door panels, the center console and a parcel shelf behind the seats, matched with the red carpet.

Under the hood is a 3.0L Colombo V12 engine with 240 hp (180 kW) at 7,500 rpm and 178 lb-ft (242 Nm) of torque at 5,500 rpm. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 4-speed manual transmission. It reaches 62 mph (100 km/h) in 7 to 8 seconds with a top speed of 150 mph (240 km/h).

JD Classics inspected and cleaned the front and rear suspension and brake systems to period standards. The entire restoration process was documented and the owner began the process of applying for Ferrari Classiche certification.

The auction will take place on November 4 and the estimated value of the car is between £1,250,000 – £1,500,000 GBP.

2008 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR sold for CHF 680,000

In 2006, Porsche introduced the 911 GT3 RSR based on the 997 generation, which made its debut at the 2007 24 Hours of Le Mans. It is the most successful racing car of its generation, built in a limited edition to win races. One example, a 2008 Porsche 911 GT3 RSR that never officially hit the road sold for CHF 680,000 (around €709,000).

This car is finished in Carrera White and has only 20 kilometers on the odometer. In 2008, Porsche improved this model by installing a spoiler on the front, optimized air ducts that reduced drag but also increased downforce, and revised suspension.

The 911 GT3 RSR is powered by a 3.8-liter flat-six engine with 485 hp (357 kW). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a six-speed sequential gearbox. The car has matching-numbers chassis, engine, and gearbox and is accompanied by an Automobile Club de l’Ouest LM GT2 technical passport, DMSB roll cage certificate, a 2007-issued FIA GT2 homologation form, and a Porsche Motorsport Datenblatt.

This car has had one owner since new and is a great addition to any collection, especially a racing car enthusiast.
