It has been a quarter of a century when, in the era of luxury SUVs, the Bavarian manufacturer launched its first SUV, the BMW X5. Now, for the 25th birthday of this model, BMW has revealed a special edition, the BMW X5 Silver Anniversary Edition.

The X5 Silver Anniversary Edition is finished in a unique Lime Rock Gray and is equipped with the xOffroad equipment package, which includes an air suspension with a mechanical differential lock on the rear axle and additional chassis protection (standard). The ground clearance has also been increased, and the driver is offered four new driving modes: xSnow, xSand, xGravel and xRocks. Each has preset settings for suspension height, traction control, shifting, throttle response and other parameters. There is also the xOffroad camera, which works at speeds of up to 35 km/h, showing the surroundings and making it easier for the driver to choose a better path.

Inside, buyers can choose leather-trimmed seats in Black, Cognac, Coffee or Silverstone Sensafin, while the carbon fiber trim is taken from the X5 M60i and X5 M Competition models. There is also a head-up display and a Harman Kardon surround sound system.

BMW will produce around 1,000 cars and production will start in August. It will be available only for the US market at a price of $81,075.
