When the fourth-generation Skoda Superb was spotted testing two years ago, little was known about this upcoming car. Now, when the premiere is approaching, Skoda has published several photos.
As previously predicted, the car will have a lower roofline and wide and thin taillights, including a slightly longer rear suspension. It will have a new radiator grille and the side profile will be improved with strong shoulder lines.
It will be offered in sedan and station wagon versions, and larger dimensions and a better coefficient of air resistance are the main innovations. 4912 mm long, 1834 mm wide and 1481 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2841 mm, the sedan is 43 mm longer and 12 mm wider than its predecessor. The interior is spacious enough to accommodate five passengers, and provides 645 liters of luggage space. It is equipped with a 13-inch infotainment screen and a 10-inch digital cockpit.
When it comes to the powertrain, there are three gasoline and two diesel options available that will meet Euro 7 emission standards, as well as a plug-in hybrid available only in the station wagon version. Gasoline engines are 1.5 mHEV with 150 hp/110 kW, and 2.0 TSI with 204 hp/150 kW and 265 hp/195 kW (AWD). The diesel options are the 2.0 TDI diesel engine with 150 hp/110 kW and 193 hp/142 kW (AWD). All engines are paired with a DSG gearbox. It should also be noted that the new Superb is built on the modular MQB platform of the Volkswagen Group.
