Summer is almost here and Mercedes-AMG has revealed a new Cabriolet edition from the current CLE-Class, the Mercedes-AMG CLE 53. It is the most powerful version of the luxurious four-seater.
The most powerful CLE Cabrio is equipped with new bumpers with larger air flow openings and widened fenders with a larger wheel track by 5.8 centimeters at the front and 7.6 centimeters at the rear. It is mounted on 19″ or 20″ wheels, and there are several optional AMG packages for accessories on the body, which contribute to the personalization of the car in addition to the several offered roof colors.
In the cabin, plenty of luxury and the finest materials. In addition to the folding roof, the interior of the car is equipped with an 11.9-inch display multimedia system with an adjustable tilt (which cancels the reflection of sunlight), a neck heater and an Aircap system to eliminate noise and air turbulence. With the optional AMG Performance package, customers can also choose better profiled seats.
The 4.85-meter-long car is powered by a 3.0-L 6-cylinder turbo gasoline engine assisted by a 48-volt mild hybrid system with 449 hp (335 kW) and 443 lb-ft (600 Nm) of torque. The same powertrain is used by the recently revealed AMG CLE 53 Coupé. The engine is paired with a 9-speed AMG SPEEDSHIFT TCT automatic transmission that sends power to all wheels (4Matic+). It accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 4.3 seconds (only 0.1 second slower than the Coupe version) with an electronically limited top speed of 250 km/h (155 mph).
