Two months ago, it was announced that an agreement had been signed between Alpine and the French Ministry of the Interior, according to which the car company would deliver 26 Alpine A110 cars to the French police.
The Alpine A110 will be used by gendarmerie forces that maintain security in cities of up to 20,000 inhabitants, and the photos show what the first two delivered cars look like in the role of police cars.
Police cars are equipped with 18-inch wheels, instead of the standard 17-inch ones, which indicates that there is a slightly more powerful engine under the hood. In that case, the car will be powered by a boosted Renault Mégane RS turbocharged 1.8-liter four-cylinder engine with 300 hp (221 kW) and 251 lb-ft (340 Nm) of torque. This is significantly more power as the standard model has 252 hp (185 kW) and 236 lb-ft (320 Nm) of torque. It reaches 62 mph in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 171 mph (275 kph). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
