For a long time, Ferrari resisted SUVs, but since the demand for SUVs was expanding, and the competition was increasing, the decision was made. Ferrari will produce its first SUV. So far, several photos have been published showing the design of the car, which the company claims will be a limited edition. Now it’s official, the Ferrari Purosangue has had its world premiere.
With its first four-door four-seater, Ferrari strives, in an efficient way, to attract first-time buyers, but also younger ones. The front grille is located low in the bumper with a prancing horse located in its central part, large air intakes on the sides and thin front daytime running lights, a suicide door, two pairs of exhaust pipes, are some of the design solutions that adorn a car that is unique, marrying Prancing Horse performance with ultimate luxury comfort.
When it comes to the powertrain, rumors said that it will be a plug-in hybrid powered by a 3.0-liter turbo V6 engine with 654 hp (488 kW) and an electric motor with 164 hp (123 kW), for a total of 818 hp (610 kW) and 546 lb-ft (740 Nm) of torque. Some even mention a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine. However, it is now certain that the Ferrari Purosangue is powered by a naturally aspirated 6.5-liter V12 engine with 715 hp (526 kW) and 528 lb-ft (716 Nm) of torque. According to Ferrari, it will hit 62 mph in 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 192 mph (310 kph). The engine is paired with an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox whose performance is 35 percent higher, transmitting up to 1,200 Nm in dynamic torque during gear shifts.
