Mercedes-Benz has premiered a car intended for those who are not fans of SUVs, but still want a sedan with off-road capabilities, the Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain.

The Mercedes-Benz E-Class All-Terrain will be offered in two diesel versions, the E 220 and the E 450. The E 220 is powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 197 hp (145 kW), which is enough to push the car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 8.1 seconds. The E 450 is powered by a 3.0-liter 6-cylinder engine with 381 hp (280 kW) and 369 lb-ft (500 Nm) of torque, which is enough to reach 62 mph (100 km/h) in less than 5 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 210 km/h (130 mph).

Mercedes-Benz will also offer an E 300 de hybrid version powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine combined with an electric motor with a total output of 308 hp (227 kW) and 516 lb-ft (700 Nm) of torque. This plug-in hybrid has a range of 102 kilometers.

The car is 4,950 long, 1,904 wide and 1,497 mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,961 mm. All versions are equipped with Airmatic suspension which allows the car to be lowered by 15 mm at speeds above 120 km/h for aerodynamic efficiency. It is comfortable and spacious with 615 and 1,830 liters of luggage space when the rear seats are folded down. Additional equipment includes the MBUX Superscreen infotainment screen, Off-Road driving program in which the driver’s and central screens show the compass, coordinates, vehicle angle and tire pressure, 360-degree camera for better visibility of the terrain, active braking and parking system. Driver Assistance Package with active steering assistance, active lane keeping and adaptive cruise control are optional.
