A few days ago, BMW introduced its best sports wagon, the M3 CS Touring. The car brings several improvements that promise a new level of performance.
Before working on the engine, BMW reduced the car’s weight by 15 kg thanks to carbon components that include a new hood, front splitter, front air intakes, side mirror housings and rear diffuser. There is also a new front grille, LED daytime running lights, and a new rear lip spoiler.
The M3 CS Touring also received improved electronically controlled shock absorbers, a front crossbar that increases body rigidity, an exhaust system with adaptive valves, a rear silencer made of titanium, more powerful brakes, and buyers can optionally choose carbon-ceramic discs.
When it comes to the powertrain, the M3 CS Touring is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-L 6-cylinder engine with 550 hp and 650 Nm of torque, which means it is more powerful than the M3 Competition. The engine is mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission that sends power to all four wheels. It reaches 100 km/h in just 3.5 seconds, 200 km/h in 11.7 seconds with a top speed of 300 km/h (186 mph). The car is mounted on a new set of lightweight 19″ and 20″ wheels.
Speaking of the price, the BMW M3 CS Touring in Germany starts at 152,900 euros, which is 50,000 euros more than the M3 Touring.
