Porsche Opens First Charging Lounge in Switzerland

Porsche continues its push into the premium electric mobility space with the grand opening of its first Porsche Charging Lounge in Switzerland, expanding a growing network of ultra-fast, high-comfort EV charging stations. Strategically located near Nyon, just off the A1 motorway between Lausanne and Geneva, the new lounge offers Porsche drivers a seamless and stylish charging experience — one that is as performance-oriented as the vehicles themselves.

This is Porsche’s seventh Charging Lounge across Europe, joining existing sites in Germany and Austria. Each is tailored to offer more than just power — they reflect the brand’s DNA: precision engineering, exclusivity, and design-led utility.

Fast Charging Meets First-Class Comfort

The Signy-Avenex site boasts six charging points, each capable of delivering up to 400 kW of DC fast charging — among the highest currently available. This allows the latest Taycan to charge from 10% to 80% state of charge in just 18 minutes, while the new electric Macan only needs 21 minutes to achieve the same.

But what sets the Porsche Charging Lounge apart is not just speed — it’s the experience. The facility blends Studio F.A. Porsche-designed architecture with thoughtful amenities like comfortable indoor lounges, outdoor seating with built-in speakers, refreshments, fast Wi-Fi, and modern restrooms. The space is modular and future-ready, with a heat pump for energy efficiency and a photovoltaic system on the roof for partial self-sufficiency.

Smart Integration and Award-Winning App

Porsche’s digital ecosystem ensures users enjoy seamless access and navigation. The My Porsche app, recently ranked #1 by Auto Bild in a comprehensive evaluation of 32 OEM and independent charging apps, makes locating and activating the Charging Lounges effortless. License plate recognition tied to a user’s Porsche ID allows for automatic access — no tapping, scanning, or swiping required, though a Porsche Charging Card or in-app QR code offers alternatives.

Billing is handled centrally via the Porsche Charging Service, offering transparent pricing of just CHF 0.39/kWh in Switzerland — a competitive rate considering the premium infrastructure.

GOFAST Joins as a Preferred Swiss Partner

The rollout in Switzerland is strengthened by a new partnership with GOFAST AG, the country’s leading fast-charging network operator. With around 90 active locations and plans to more than double to over 200 sites, GOFAST’s inclusion means Porsche owners benefit from greater coverage across major Swiss transport corridors.

Elsewhere in Europe, Aral pulse and IONITY — also Preferred Partners — continue expanding Porsche’s premium charging footprint. Aral pulse now contributes over 3,000 charging points in Germany, while IONITY’s 750+ sites provide high-power charging across the continent.

Electrifying Growth in a Key Market

Switzerland is increasingly important to Porsche’s electrification strategy. With more than 5,000 vehicles registered in 2024, sales have jumped over 10% year-on-year. The launch of the new Charging Lounge reflects both rising demand and Porsche’s commitment to serving its Swiss customers with premium EV infrastructure.

Porsche Schweiz AG, a wholly owned subsidiary of Porsche AG, oversees a network of 14 Porsche Centres, one Porsche Studio, and five Service Centres — all orchestrated from its headquarters in Rotkreuz, Canton of Zug.

A Glimpse Into the Future of Porsche

With a bold design, ultra-fast charging, and user-centric digital tools, the Signy-Avenex Porsche Charging Lounge exemplifies what the future of luxury EV travel can look like. It’s not just about getting from A to B — it’s about enjoying every moment in between.

As Porsche continues to redefine electric performance, it’s clear the charging experience is evolving alongside the cars themselves — sleek, powerful, and unmistakably Porsche.
