The new all-electric iX1 comes from BMW. It is a new generation X1 crossover that is still in the development phase, and which is expected to hit the market at the end of this year. At the beginning, it will only be offered as the xDrive30 model.
Although it looks like the X1 at first glance, the iX1 has been given new styling elements such as a slightly modified front grille surrounded by blue details, new bumpers and LED lights similar to those on the 3 Series, making the new model look powerful. Blue details can also be seen on the sides of the door as well as on the rear bumper.
The car has a larger wheelbase. Compared to the X1, the new crossover is 53mm longer, 24mm wider and 44mm taller, with a luggage space capacity of 540 liters. Inside, the seats are upholstered in burgundy leather which in combination with black leather can be seen on the door panels and dashboard. In front of the driver, there is a steering wheel covered with black leather and a digital touch screen, so the manual buttons have been removed.
The BMW iX1 is one of the most powerful members of the third generation X1 family. It is powered by two electric motors with a total power of 313 hp (230 kW) and 364 lb-ft (494 Nm) of torque. With all-wheel drive, the car reaches 62 mph in 5.7 seconds. Thanks to the 64.7 kWh battery, the iX1 has a range of 438 km. The battery supports BMW’s latest charging technology and new software that also uses the BMW i7, which means that DC charging of up to 130 kW is enabled, ie the battery can be charged up to 70 percent of capacity in 29 minutes.
