End of production for Lotus Elise, Evora and Exige

As the start of production of Lotus Emira is approaching, the company announced that it will stop producing its three models: Elise, Exige and Evora. The decision was made to replace the assembly lines with new ones for the production of the Emira and the electric model Evija.

Lotus Emira will be offered in several vibrant paint colors, such as Hethel Yellow, Nimbus Gray, Magma Red, Dark Verdant and Shadow Gray. It will be equipped with LED lights all round, heated power-fold door mirrors and rear parking sensors and titanium exhaust finisher. It will be powered by a 3.5-liter supercharged V6 engine with 400 hp (298 kW) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with a six-speed automatic transmission with paddleshift. As an option, there is also a six-speed manual transmission that works at a slightly lower torque.

Lotus Elise began production in 1996, Exige in 2000, Evora in 2008. So far, more than 51,000 have found their way to their owners. “As we say farewell to the last few cars, we look forward to the Emira and Evija in the all-new factories at Hethel and sub-assembly facilities in Norwich, which introduce greater efficiencies and automation, higher quality and flexibility and the hugely exciting next chapter in our Vision80 strategy, ”said Lotus CEO Matt Windle.

2022 Porsche 911 Sport Classic

According to some rumors, the Porsche 911 Sport Classic will debut early next year in a limited edition. Like the previous model which was made in 250 units and sold before the official presentation, the same is expected from the new 911 Sport Classic.

The arrival of the new 911 Sport Classic is confirmed by spy photos in which the car is shown with a bit of camouflage on it, which means that the tests are coming to an end. As we can see it shares the design with the 911 Turbo model but with some minor modifications, such as the rear spoiler with brake light and front grille.

The Porsche 911 Sport Classic will be powered by a 3.0-liter twin-turbo direct-injected flat-six engine with 473 hp (352 kW) at 6500 rpm and 420 lb-ft (569 Nm) of torque at 2300 rpm. The same engine uses the Porsche 911 GTS. Reaches 62 mph in just 3.3 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph (310 km / h). Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed manual or 8-speed twin-clutch automatic transmission. It is mounted on slightly larger wheels with five-spoke aluminum rims.

Bugatti Chiron reached 257 mph on the Autobahn

In 2015, Radim Passer reached a speed of 250 mph (402.5 km / h) while driving a Bugatti Veyron on the German Autobahn. That means he covered a distance of 111 meters every second. Now, six years later, he has decided to do the same but now with the Bugatti Chiron.

Before attempting to set a new record, the car was handed over for a detailed inspection at the Bugatti plant in Molsheim. Safety was a priority, so he decided to break the speed record early in the morning on the Autobahn A2. The section of the A2 was a 3 lane, 10 km straightaway with a light descent in the middle, so there was visibility along the whole stretch.

At 4:50 AM, when there was no traffic, he got out on the Autobahn A2. Deactivating the speed limiter meant that the Chiron could go faster than 237 mph (381 kph). Entering the Autobahn, he pressed the speed pedal and reached a top speed of 257 mph (414 kph). After that, he celebrated the success with his friends, and thanked God that everything went safely.
