Traffic accidents caused by driver health problems are not uncommon, and BMW wants to solve this problem. According to the latest information, the BMW Group and Universitätsmedizin Berlin are researching the possibility of using medical technology in cars.
Most new cars are equipped with the latest generation of safety systems and sensors that collect data about the vehicle, and BMW believes that they can also collect and analyze data about passengers. The director of the Charité University Hospital, Professor Heyo K. Kroemer, believes that the collected data could significantly improve the prevention and avoidance of emergency situations while driving.
A large number of medical experts and engineers will work on this project to develop smart driver assistance systems. The project includes the protection of personal data, studying the health effects of parameters in the car and developing preventive measures to improve the health of passengers. They will also investigate the possibility of using artificial intelligence in combination with existing and new vehicle sensors.
