The DeLorean DMC-12 is a legendary car that gained fame in the film franchise “Back to the Future”, and is the desire of many car enthusiasts. One of them fulfilled his dream three years ago by buying a car and turning it into a truly outstanding example.
The owner restored the stainless steel body, and then chose a wide body kit that completely changed the appearance of this legendary car. Wide fenders, sills and massive bumpers are produced using a 3D printer and are connected with fiberglass. Inside, sports seats, cluster and door panels, which have been modernized, the central console has been changed, and Rstomod air conditioning controls have been installed. The car also got a Haltech IC7 display, while the rest of the interior has remained in touch with the ’80s when the car gained its fame.
When it comes to the powertrain, the owner removed the 2.8-liter V6 engine and installed a 5.3-liter LS Gen4 with about 700 hp (515 kW) mated to Porsche’s G96 transmission. It’s equipped with individual throttle bodies, 6061 plenums and a titanium exhaust system, and Skol SK17 wheels wrapped in 18×12 front and 17×10 rear Toyo R888R tires.
