Back in 2012, the British company McLaren introduced a hybrid P1 model with more than 900 horsepower. Eight years later, McLaren introduces a plug-in version of the hybrid model Artura.
This model has a 3.8-liter V8 engine that in combination with an electric motor offers more than 900 hp. Accelerates from 0 – 62 mph in 2.8 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph (350 km / h).
This model is powered by a twin-turbocharged 3.0-liter V6 engine that combined with the electric motor delivers 671 hp (7,500 rpm) and 593 lb-ft (2,250 rpm) of torque. Arthur accelerates from 0 – 62 mph in 3 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph. The battery of the electric motor allows you to travel 19 miles (31 kilometers). It takes you 2.5 hours to charge 80 percent of the battery.
Artura features customizable cruise control, lane departure warning, high-beam assist and road sign recognition (as standard). The car also features McLaren’s new infotainment system (MIS II), a high-resolution touch screen, and new telemetry software with Variable Drift Control.
The new model is based on the new ultralight aluminum-carbon platform (MCLA). The total weight of the car with 90 percent fuel in the tank is 1,498 kilograms.
The McLaren Arthur is a model with slightly less power, but much cheaper, as the price of this model is around $ 225,000, while the price of the McLaren P1 is over a million dollars.
