Mercedes-Benz to Deliver 5,000 Electric Vans to Amazon in Record-Breaking Deal

Mercedes-Benz Vans is set to deliver nearly 5,000 electric vehicles to Amazon’s European delivery partners in the coming months, marking the largest single electric vehicle (EV) order in the automaker’s history. The bulk of the fleet—approximately 75%—will consist of the larger eSprinter model, with the remainder made up of the compact eVito panel van.

The new fleet will be deployed across five European countries, with more than half—over 2,500 units—stationed in Germany. Amazon projects that these electric vans will collectively deliver more than 200 million packages per year, a significant boost to the company’s growing zero-emissions delivery operations. This expansion builds on Amazon’s existing fleet of over 1,800 electric Mercedes-Benz vehicles, which were first introduced in 2020.

Sagree Sardien, Head of Sales and Marketing at Mercedes-Benz Vans, hailed the expanded partnership. “I am delighted that we are further intensifying our long-standing relationship with Amazon and working together on an all-electric future of transport,” she said. “Courier and parcel services are once again proving to be a key driver of electromobility.”

Sardien noted that both the eSprinter and eVito models offer a powerful combination of zero-emission driving, strong performance, comfort, and low operating costs—elements crucial for commercial transport efficiency.

Amazon’s Director of Global Fleet, Neil Emery, emphasized the environmental significance of the deal. “From electric bikes to vehicles to trucks and infrastructure, we are well on our way to transforming our transport network,” he said. “This investment underlines our commitment to reducing carbon emissions, and we look forward to accelerating our collaboration with Mercedes-Benz in electrifying our fleet across Europe.”

The companies’ partnership in sustainable transport is not new. In 2020, Mercedes-Benz joined The Climate Pledge, a climate initiative co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism, aiming to achieve net-zero carbon emissions by 2040—ten years ahead of the Paris Agreement.

As e-commerce continues to drive demand for last-mile delivery, Amazon and Mercedes-Benz are positioning themselves at the forefront of the logistics sector’s transition to electric mobility.

In a fitting tribute to its legacy and founder’s roots, Koenigsegg has unveiled Sadair’s Spear — a track-focused evolution of the Jesko hypercar, named after the racehorse that carried Jesko von Koenigsegg, father of company founder Christian von Koenigsegg, in his final equestrian race back in 1976.

Limited to just 30 units, Sadair’s Spear is more than a homage — it’s a no-compromise engineering statement. Every gram, gear, and gust of air has been reimagined to create a machine that prioritizes circuit domination over road manners.

A Racehorse in Carbon Fibre

Koenigsegg is known for its relentless pursuit of performance, and Sadair’s Spear carries that legacy forward with a sharpened focus. Based on the Jesko platform, the car benefits from extensive weight reduction, aerodynamic revisions, and a bump in power:

  • 1300 hp on standard fuel
  • 1625 hp on E85 biofuel
  • Torque peaks at 1500 Nm, with a flat delivery of 1000 Nm across a wide rev range (2700–6170 rpm).

These figures emerge from the company’s now-iconic twin-turbo 5.0L V8, paired to the revolutionary 9-speed Light Speed Transmission (LST) — a proprietary system capable of near-instantaneous shifts across any gear combination thanks to its UPOD (Ultimate Power On Demand) tech.

Unlike traditional dual-clutch transmissions, LST doesn’t need to sequentially downshift. Going from 7th to 4th is instantaneous. The result? Seamless, brutal acceleration — tailored for the track.

Aerodynamics: Downforce with Discipline

Sadair’s Spear debuts a reworked aerodynamic package designed to produce usable downforce at lower speeds, critical for lap time shaving. A new active, top-mounted double-blade rear wing, combined with underfloor strakes and wheel arch louvres, ensures rear stability and cooling under heavy loads.

At the front, larger canards, an enlarged hood vent, and independent aero flaps contribute to a more balanced aerodynamic profile. The Triplex damper system, paired with Active Ride Height, adds composure through corners and stability under braking.

From Aircore carbon fiber wheels to triplex suspension geometry, the list of bespoke innovations reads like a textbook in automotive alchemy. Even cooling is optimized with new rear hood scoops, front Gurney flaps, and a sculpted vent system to manage heat and air pressure at speed.

Sadair’s Spear is more than a faster Jesko — it’s a deeply personal statement wrapped in carbon fiber. It closes a chapter that began with a father, his horse, and a dream of building the world’s most advanced performance cars.

2026 Ford Explorer Tremor Debuts With Off-Road Upgrades

Ford continues to expand its Tremor family, bringing rugged refinement to more of its lineup. The latest model to join the off-road-ready club is the 2026 Ford Explorer Tremor, adding some serious trail credibility to the family SUV segment. With the Maverick, Expedition, and F-150 already sporting the Tremor badge, the Explorer becomes the latest Blue Oval model to get the adventure-focused upgrade.

The Explorer Tremor builds on the SUV’s existing capabilities with a series of enhancements tailored for off-road excursions. Ford has fitted the Tremor with a specially tuned suspension that lifts the ride height by an extra inch, improving approach and departure angles to better tackle uneven terrain. Stiffer sway bars and custom springs sharpen handling over rough surfaces, while 18-inch wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Dueler all-terrain tires offer added grip off the pavement.

Regardless of engine choice, all-wheel drive comes standard, along with a Torsen limited-slip differential and underbody skid plates to boost confidence when venturing off-road.

Inside, the Explorer Tremor balances its rugged character with modern tech and comfort. The model features the Ford Digital Experience and Co-Pilot360 2.0 Assist suite of driver aids. Optional upgrades include massaging front seats, a premium 14-speaker B&O sound system, and BlueCruise 1.5, Ford’s hands-free highway driving assist.

Ford hasn’t released pricing yet for the 2026 Explorer Tremor, but based on current figures, it’s likely to land in the low-$50,000 range, just beneath the high-performance ST variant, which starts at $56,465 for the 2025 model year. Exact pricing and showroom arrival dates will be announced closer to launch.

With the Explorer Tremor, Ford is offering a compelling mix of family utility and genuine off-road capability—a blend that should appeal to adventurous drivers looking for something a little more rugged without stepping up to a full-size SUV.
