Porsche Santa Clarita restored the 1955 model, the Porsche 356 Speedster. It is part of the 2021 Porsche Restoration Challenger project.
The car was bought from the owner who used it as a race car for the last 50 years. The Reutter Karosserie body is painted in greenish blue with elegantly placed headlights at the front and a louvered decklid at the back.
After the modification, the 356 Speedster is equipped with chrome bumpers, shaved rocker moldings and taillights, 15 “front and 16” rear wheels painted in gold, factory exhaust pipes.
Inside, the seats are upholstered in a combination of red leather and fabric. A traditional two-spoke steering wheel and new floor coverings have been installed. The complete restoration was overseen by Galpin President and Chief Operating Officer, Beau Boeckmann.
The Porsche 356 Speedster is powered by a 1600 SC engine with 95 hp at 5,800 rpm. The drive is transmitted to the rear wheels by a 519 transaxle.
