A few days ago, a video appeared on YouTube in which the guys from Carwow compared three super powerful and fast cars in a drag race. These are the Lamborghini SVJ, the McLaren 720 and the Porsche 911 Turbo S.
The Porsche 911 Turbo S is powered by a 3.7-liter twin-turbo flat-six engine with 650 hp (478 kW) and 590 lb-ft (800 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via an eight-speed dual-clutch automatic PDK transmission. It reaches 62 mph in an impressive 2.3 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph (330 km / h). It costs £ 168,900.
The Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is powered by a 6.5-liter naturally aspirated V12 engine with 770 hp (566 kW) and 530 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 7-speed single clutch automatic transmission. With a weight of 1,525 kg, it reaches 60 mph in 2.7 seconds with a top speed of 217 mph (350 + km / h). It is mounted on 20 “and 21” rims wrapped in 255/30 ZR 20 (front) and 355/25 ZR 21 (rear) Pirelli P Zero Corsa tires. It costs £ 350,000.
The McLaren 720 is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine with 720 hp (530 kW) and 568 lb-ft (770 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission. With a weight of 1,419 kg, it reaches 62 mph in 2.9 seconds with a top speed of 212 mph (341 km / h). It costs £ 222,800.
When it comes to price, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ is the most expensive with £ 350,000 ($ 427,069). The Porsche 911 Turbo S is the cheapest with a price tag of £ 168,900 ($ 206,085), while the McLaren 720 is priced at £ 222,800 ($ 271,872).
Head-to-head on a quarter-mile, the Porsche 911 Turbo S was the fastest with 10.4 seconds, the Lamborghini Aventador SVJ was second with 10.6 seconds while the McLaren 720 was last with 11 seconds.
Starting at 50 mph on 1/2 Mile, the 911 Turbo S and McLaren 720 had a photo finish, while the Lamborghini SVJ stayed far behind. Same starting speed but in Sport settings from 3rd gear, the McLaren 720 showed power while the 911 Turbo S and Lamborghini SVJ stayed far behind.
It’s good to see the battle of supercars in drag race, but these cars deserve better drivers.
