Restomod Ford Escort MK1 coming soon

Between 1967 and 1975, Ford produced one of its most historically significant road, racing and rally icons, the Ford Escort MK1. Now this car is coming back to the market as a restomod project of the British company Boreham Motorworks, and it will debut on December 12, 2024.

The car will be based on the first generation Escort, and will be built according to original designs that are more than 55 years old. It comes with the message: “Our heritage guides us, and our future insists on it. We will not forget our heritage, we will develop it.”

The British company has released the first photos of the covered car, and what can be seen are the headlights with LED light signature and wider fenders. Boreham Motorworks emphasizes that they understand that true automotive passion comes from the connection between driver and machine.

“The Ford Escort Mk1 embodies that spirit, combining timeless design with performance that inspires confidence and joy. We design for the road, not the track. We embrace everything drivers love about cars,” said Ian Muir, chief executive of the British company.

The car will be produced in a limited edition and will be powered by a petrol engine mated to a manual gearbox.
