The 2022 WRC season is underway and the current leader in the championship standings is Finnish driver Kalle Rovanperä of Toyota GR Yaris. Toyota GR Yaris is also the leader in the category of manufacturers. The Skoda team has bad results, so the manufacturer decided to present the new Fabia RS Rally2 for the 2023 season.
The new Fabia RS Rally2 is based on the fourth generation of race cars. The design of the current model has been retained, and the new materials used meet all FIA regulations. In addition to adequate body components and a flat floor, two mechanical differentials will help with grip and overall handling. The size of the wheels will be chosen by the teams depending on the surface on which the rally will take place.
The car is powered by a 1.6-liter 4-cylinder turbo petrol engine, based on VW’s 2.0L engine, with 291 hp (214 kW) and 317 lb-ft (430 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to all wheels via a 5-speed sequential transmission.
