A few days ago, the 2005 Porsche Carrera GT was sold for $ 1,902,000, which is a record amount for a used car. It is one of 1270 examples produced, and has only 780 miles (1,255 km) on the tachometer.
The Carrera GT is powered by a 5.7-liter V10 engine with 605 hp (445 kW) and 435 lb-ft (590 Nm) of torque at 5750 rpm. The engine is paired with a six-speed manual transmission with a limited-slip differential. It is mounted on forged magnesium 19 and 20 inch rims wrapped in 265/35 (front) and 335/30 (rear) Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires.
The body of the car, made of carbon fiber, is painted in Guards Red with matching removable roof panels. The car comes with an electronically actuated rear spoiler, clutch rotors and brakes made of ceramic composites, as well as an original factory-fitted luggage set, factory books, keys, and a clean Carfax report.
Inside, sports seats made of carbon fiber and Kevlar are upholstered in black leather. The center console, door caps and dashboard are also upholstered in leather, and there are interior trim in magnesium, carbon fiber and aluminum.
Another example of the Carrera GT is currently on sale with only 250 miles on the odometer and is very close to breaking the record price of $ 1,902,000.
