In 2014, Volkswagen presented the Golf R400 concept. At the time, it was speculated that the concept would get its production version (R420), but the Dieselgate affair ended the plans for the ultimate Golf R. Nine years later, Volkswagen announces the arrival of the Golf R 333 Limited Edition, which will be premiered on May 31.
Last year, we saw the premiere of the powerful hatchback called the 20 Years Edition, which marked two decades of this car. Those who wanted it, but couldn’t get it, now have the opportunity to buy the Golf R 333 Limited Edition.
According to some predictions, the car will be powered by a 2.0L gasoline engine with 333 hp (245 kW) and 310 lb-ft (420 Nm) of torque. That’s enough power to push the car to 62 mph (100 km/h) in 4.6 seconds with an electronically limited top speed of 270 km/h (168 mph). The car in the video is finished in yellow with black side mirrors, mounted on a set of 19-inch Estoril wheels and has blue brake calipers, and equipped with an Akrapovič quad exhaust system.
The price of the car is not known, but it can be expected that it will not be cheaper than the “20 Years Edition” which cost 60,000 EUR.
