Automotive journalist Chris Harris is one of those car enthusiasts who has driven almost every car model available in the European market, so his opinion on cars should be taken into account. He recently tested a Lamborghini Huracan that didn’t enchant him as he expected. But what about the Huracan STO?
Although he had previously criticized the Lamborghini Huracan, he still decided to drive his latest model, the Huracan STO. However, he did not hide his enthusiasm here, especially with the engine that sounds like a musical instrument. The new Huracan STO is upgraded with titanium roll cage, magnesium wheels, single piece front end made of carbon fiber, which makes the new STO 43 kg lighter than the previous Huracan Performante.
Under the hood is a 5.2 L naturally aspirated V10 engine with 640 hp (470 kW) and 417 lb-ft (565 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox LDF. It is lighter than the Aventador SVJ (1,339 kg), reaching 62 mph in 3 seconds with a top speed of 193 mph (310 km / h). It is mounted on 20 “rims wrapped in 245/30 R20 (front) and 305/30 R20 (rear) Bridgestone Potenza Sport tires.
In its category, the Huacan WTO is not that quick. For example, a Porsche GT3 or a McLaren 765 LT cost less and are just as fast. Either way, driving is not numbers. It is about the feelings and connection between the machine and the driver.
At the end of the ride around Silverstone, Harris said that, for him, the Huracan STO is the best Lamborghini ever.
