CNC Motorsport AWS from Cotswold will produce a limited edition Ford Sierra RS500 race car. The cars will be made to precise specifications approved by Andy Rouse.
The original Ford Sierra bodies will be used in the construction, and will feature Andry Rouse Engineering construction panels. The original design will be retained to ensure that the construction meets all BTCC Group A rules. Therefore, cars will be able to participate in historic racing competitions. They will be powered by the new Cosworth YB 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine with 575 hp (423 kW). The engine is paired with a five-speed manual Getrag transmission.
“The RS500 was lots of fun and of all the cars I raced, the Caliber RS500 is the one I wish I still had today. When Alan told me he had acquired a brand new bodyshell, we came up with the idea to build correct continuation cars just as we did in our Binley workshop. Having seen Alan develop his own engineering business, he was the only person I trusted to build cars that would carry the ARE build plate, ”said Andy Rouse.
Andy Rouse, a four-time champion with 60 race wins, founded Andy Rouse Engineering in 1981. He won the titles in 1983, 1984 and 1985 when he achieved 9 victories in the season.
Only three units of the Ford Sierra RS500 will be produced and each will cost around $ 254,000. The first car will be completed in 2022.
