The new generation Renault Megane GrandCoupe will now be available with a diesel engine, but only in some European markets.
The French manufacturer says it has decided to continue production of the Megane sedan at its Turkish factory despite the new GSR2 safety regulations, as demand for the model is above expectations.
The diesel version is no different from the other versions, except for the equipment that includes a speed warning system, a safe distance control system, AEBS active braking system and a lane keeping system, as well as dual-zone automatic air conditioning, a 7-inch TFT color screen, an automatic parking brake, an Easy Link multimedia system (DAB) with a 7-inch screen and navigation, Bluetooth, two USB ports and two rear USB ports in the center console.
Customers can now choose a 1.5-L 4-cylinder diesel engine with 115 hp and paired with a 7-speed EDC automatic transmission. This engine delivers an average fuel consumption of 4.6-4.7 l/100 km on the WLTP cycle, 1 litre less than the version with the 1.3-litre TCe petrol engine. It is equipped with a 50-liter fuel tank that provides a range of 1,060 kilometers.
