Škoda will produce the Octavia in Kvasiny

Škoda has announced that the Octavia will now share the production line with the Karoq and Kodiaq models at the Kvasiny plant. For this reason, the Czech manufacturer opened a training center equipped with the latest technology, including three robotic training workstations and two classrooms for advanced theoretical instruction.

“By producing additional copies of the Octavia in Kvasiny, we use our flexible production network more efficiently and fully utilize the capacities of our factories. In addition to preparations for additional Octavia production in Kvasiny, we have established a training center that offers an ideal environment for additional training and improvement of our team. I would like to thank everyone who participated in this project,” said Andreas Dick, a member of the Škoda board that oversees production and logistics.

Octavia first appeared on the market in the mid-1990s, and since then around 7.5 million cars have been produced. In 2019, the fourth generation of this model based on the improved MQB platform arrived on the market, and recently the Czech manufacturer presented a refreshed edition equipped with the second generation of Matrix-LED headlights. The car is now safer and more comfortable, and ChatGPT has been added to the Laura voice assistant.

When it comes to the powertrain of the current model, customers will be able to choose between two 1.5 TSI petrol engines with optional mild-hybrid technology and DSG, two 2.0 TSI engines, with outputs from 85 kW (115 hp) to 195 kW (265 hp), and one all-wheel-drive variant.
