The road-legal Ford Matech Concepts GT1 costs $1.7 million

In 2011, the Swiss racing company Matech Concepts, which developed the Ford GT race car, went out of business, and its plant was purchased by the English company LYNX Motors. Now, this company, in cooperation with the American company Graham Rahal Performance, announces the production of a road-legal version of Ford’s racing model, the Ford Matech Concepts GT1 Le Mans.

There is not much information about this road-legal version yet, but what the company has announced is that it will have a carbon body and an aerodynamic upgrade. The published photos also suggest that this car could be equipped with a new front splitter, spoiler and a large rear wing. The interior will be upholstered in leather, and it is believed that it will have a new steering wheel and a lot of carbon details.

What is known for sure is that only 28 units of this car will be produced. They will be powered by a supercharged V8 engine that will deliver a whopping 1,217 hp, and will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission.

LYNX Motors will allow customization of the cars, and each will cost $1.7 million before adding any road or track aero options.
