2023 Mercedes Vision One-Eleven

In 1969, Mercedes presented the experimental car C 111, with a fiberglass body shell and a mid-mounted three-rotor direct fuel injected Wankel engine. Only 16 examples were produced, and three months ago the German car manufacturer unveiled a car that resembles this model, the Mercedes Vision One-Eleven. The car is currently exhibited at the IAA Mobility, Munich.

Mercedes has always been ahead of its time when it comes to design, and that’s the case with this retro-style car, with its sleek body and gullwing doors. The new front pixelated mask with LEDs that mimic the C111’s fog lights, massive front spoiler, massive side skirts, massive rear diffuser and massive wheels, leave a powerful impression at first sight.

The interior is done in a combination of recycled polyester and orange leather with a few chrome accessories. It reflects a paradigm shift from a sports car to an autonomous electric vehicle in the super sports car segment and unites two completely different states of existence. It is equipped with two low-slung seats, a dashboard with a full-width LED pixel display and a small touch screen connected to the steering column. There is also an augmented-reality headset that turns the entire interior into the user interface, with 3D controls, icons, and maps for navigation.

The Mercedes Vision One-Eleven is powered by four YASA electric motors with a total power of around 2,000 hp (1,471 kW). It is equipped with a new battery with high performance cylindrical cells with liquid cooling.

Mercedes-Benz is developing a smaller version of the G-Class

After yesterday’s presentation of the Mercedes-Benz CLA Concept, the German automaker could soon launch a smaller version of the G-Class. This news was confirmed by the CEO of Mercedes-Benz Ola Kallenius.

During Kallenius’ speech about the upcoming smaller SUV, a teaser of the future, new G-Class was shown in the background. He confirmed that the new G-Class will be fully electric and that the development of this model is not an easy task, especially due to the fact that the expectations are high and that the company fully understands how much responsibility it has. He also added that the car will be easily recognizable and equally fun to drive on all terrains.

At the beginning of the year, there were rumors about this model, which have now been confirmed by the CEO of Mercedes-Benz. At that time, the German business newspaper Handelsblatt wrote about the arrival of the new G-Class on the market in the next three years. However, Mercedes has not confirmed when the car will be unveiled.

Although there is not enough information for now, it is assumed that the car will be developed on the MMA platform, which is not exclusively developed for electric cars, but can also be used for cars powered by internal combustion engines.
