In 2003, Mercedes-Benz and McLaren created the SRL model, and now one copy is on sale at a very high price. It is a SLR McLaren 722 By MSO and is selling for € 2.6 million.
The McLaren 722 SLR was modified by the McLaren Special Operation (MSO), and only 25 copies were made. It was created to pay homage to the Mercedes 300 SLR from the ’50s, and by 2009 only 2,157 units had been produced.
The modified SLR has undergone many external changes. It has new bumpers, a diffuser, a new bonnet, a titanium exhaust system and a new aerodynamic body. New ceramic brakes have been installed, the suspension has been redesigned, and a new steering wheel has been installed.
The McLaren 722 SLR is powered by a 5.5-liter V8 engine with 641 hp and 605 lb-ft (820 Nm). Compared to the basic model, it is 50 kg lighter. It reaches 62 mph (100 km / h) in 3.6 seconds with a top speed of 209 mph (336 km / h).
