The Finnish driver took the initiative from the very beginning of the race, which was extremely interesting. Five different drivers took turns in the leader position during the race. Rovanperä managed to regain the lead at the decisive moment and achieve his third win in the FIA WRC.

WRC crash at Monte Carlo without serious consequences

We all know how dangerous WRC races can be, so accidents are not uncommon. One such accident happened at the race in Monte Carlo, but fortunately without fatal consequences.

The accident happened on a narrow mountain road when the driver of a Ford Puma, Adrien Fourmaux, lost control of the vehicle and hit a rock. Due to the force of the impact, the car bounced, broke through the fence and fell into an abyss thirty meters deep. The car suffered extensive damage, but the passenger cage protected the driver and front passenger. They literally walked away from the crash site.

The most advanced technological solutions, as well as high safety standards, have proven to be crucial in the moment of life and death. Great role was played by the vast experience and knowledge of the driver, but also a dose of happiness that is always welcome when things like this happen. It is often said that cats have nine lives, but it seems that Rally Championship drivers also have more than one.
