France has about 6.5 million commercial vehicles, so Tesla decided to offer French businessmen a car that offers an additional alternative for transporting goods or as an emergency vehicle, the Tesla Model Y.
Some European countries have different taxes that apply to different types of vehicles, so manufacturers try to adapt and offer a car that will fall into the category of commercial vehicles with zero emissions. The new version of the Model Y, without the rear seats, does just that. “Tesla has developed the Model Y as a two-seater with a cargo volume of 2,158 liters and a range of 565 kilometers. This model meets the requirements for commercial vehicle taxation. This ecological and efficient solution offers an additional alternative to professional mobility, either for the transport of goods or as an intervention vehicle,” Clement Maguet posted on LinkedIn.
Tesla is not the first brand to turn a four-seater into a commercial vehicle. Other manufacturers do the same to avoid higher taxes. It is not known how much the vehicle will cost.
