In 1972, Ferrari launched the Dino 246 GTS model, its first car in high numbers. It was produced until 1974 and only 1,274 cars with the targa top left the production lines. One of them, a 1973 Ferrari Dino 246 GTS, is up for sale.
The 246 GTS is powered by a naturally-aspirated 2.4-liter V6 engine with 195 hp (143 kW) and 166 lb-ft (225 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 5-speed manual gearbox. It reaches 60 mph in 8.2 seconds with a top speed of 146 mph (235 km/h). It is mounted on 14” Campagnolo wheels wrapped in 205/70VR14 Michelin XWX tires. It has 58,188 km on the odometer.
The car is finished in green and is in good condition. Features a removable black roof panel, retractable antenna, driver’s side mirror, recessed front turn signals, US spec side markers, triple Weber carburetors, fender flares, Tubi exhaust, power windows, servo-assisted ventilated disc brakes at all four corners. It has been well maintained and last month the brakes, carburetors and air conditioning system were serviced by Patrick Ottis of Berkeley.
Inside, the Daytona-style seats are upholstered in tan leather that can also be seen on the door panels. The steering wheel is wrapped in black leather. Additional equipment includes tan carpets, sisal mats, a gated shifter, a Borletti air conditioning system and a Becker Mexico cassette player.
The Ferrari Dino 246 GTS comes with factory books, tools, registration documents, a Marcel Massini report, service records, and a clean Wyoming title in the owner’s name. Carfax report not listed.
The auction ends on December 2nd and the current highest bid is $600,000 USD.
