In 1992, Porsche introduced the limited edition 911 Carrera RS N/GT. It is a very rare collector’s car with racing performance but road legal. It was produced in only 290 copies, and one of them is up for auction.
The 911 Carrera RS is powered by an upgraded air-cooled 3.8-liter M64/03 flat six engine with 332 hp (244 kW). Power is sent to all wheels via a 5-speed manual transmission with a ZF limited-slip differential. It is mounted on 17-inch magnesium alloy wheels by SM.
This rare car is finished in black, and is in mint condition. In January 2016, Widberg Motorsport installed new brake pads, coil-over suspension, and clutch, which cost 23,000 CHF. Two years later, a partial rebuild was carried out to bring the car back to factory specification, costing just over CHF 13,000. It is equipped with the M003 package, which includes an aluminum hood, new electronics, lightweight door panels, thinner glass, a roll cage, a larger tank and new floor mats. The interior features Nemex racing seats, a fire extinguisher and six-point seat belts. The odometer shows 40,967 kilometers.
The car is offered at RM Sotheby’s auction which will take place on 15 September 2023. It comes with a stamped service book and Porsche factory data sheet. Estimated value is CHF250,000 – CHF350,000.
