In 1995, Ferrari introduced a new version of its sports car, the F355 Spider, which brought an electronically powered automated manual soft-top, the first time on a Ferrari automobile. It was the second-most popular F355 model, with a total production of 3,717 units. One of them, a 1998 Ferrari F355 Spider, is up for sale.
The F355 Spider is powered by a 3.5-liter DOHC V8 engine with 375 hp (276 kW) and 268 lb-ft (363 Nm) of torque. Power is sent to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transaxle and a limited-slip differential. It reaches 62 mph in 4.7 seconds with a top speed of 183 mph (295 km/h). It sits on a set of 18-inch five-spoke magnesium wheels wrapped in Bridgestone Potenza S-02A tires.
The car is finished in Rosso Barchetta and is in excellent condition. It features pop-up headlights, fog lights, an integrated tailgate spoiler, a Challenge-style rear grille, quad exhausts, a vented bonnet and door air intakes and rocker panels. There are also Ferrari brake calipers mounted over vented discs at each corner.
Inside, the sports seats are upholstered in brown Connolly leather, which can also be seen on the lower half of the dashboard, door panels and dashboard, while the steering wheel is wrapped in black leather. Other equipment includes automatic climate control, a lockable gearbox and drilled aluminum pedals.
The car has had several owners and the current owner bought it last year. It has been properly maintained and has 22,537 km on the odometer. So far, the timing belt, cam seals, valve cover seals, spark plugs and belt tensioner pulleys have been replaced.
The Carfax report shows no accidents or damage. The auction ends on November 15 and the current highest bid is $63,550.
