2023 BMW i7 final testing

After testing on the edge of the Arctic Circle and southern Europe, the upcoming BMW i7 is currently being tested in a wind tunnel and the streets of Germany. This is an all-electric model that will be premiered at the end of the year, along with a new generation of the 7 Series that will continue to use internal combustion engines.

It is already known that the Bavarian response to similar models offered primarily by German competition will be powered by two electric motors whose potential will be distributed to both axles. Some rumors say it could be a powertrain from the iX M50 that has 516 hp (385 kW) and 507 lb-ft (688 Nm) of torque.

If this is true, the car should be equipped with a 105.2 kWh battery set, which will provide a range of 392 miles (630 km) on a single charge. The BMW iX M50 reaches 62 mph in 4.2 seconds with a top speed of 124 mph (200 km / h). Power is transmitted to all wheels via a single-speed automatic transmission.

The car is still covered in heavy camouflage, so we can only guess what it looks like underneath. Some fans believe that there could be a large grille on the front like the one on the iX, which cannot be confirmed with certainty. One thing is for sure, the car is currently undergoing various tests to optimize noise insulation, aeroacoustics and vibration comfort, to ensure the best possible comfort realized in a BMW.
