At the 2022 Essen Motor Show, which will take place from December 3 – 11, BMW will present a more powerful version of the recently introduced BMW M2, the M2 M Performance. It is certain that this will please the demanding clientele of the Bavarian car manufacturer.
First of all, the M Performance M2 is powered by a twin-turbo 3.0-liter inline-6 engine with 460 hp (338 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. That’s a significant increase in power over the base M2, which has 453 hp (333 kW) and 406 lb-ft (550 Nm) of torque. Power is transmitted to the rear wheels via a 6-speed manual transmission. It reaches 62 mph in 3.9 seconds with the automatic transmission or 4.1 if the manual transmission is used. BMW has electronically limited the top speed to 155 mph (250 km/h), but this can be increased to 177 mph (285 km/h) with the optional M Driver’s Package.
The car is equipped with carbon body components, which, according to the M department, have a “positive effect” on the aerodynamic properties of the CoupĂ©, M Performance adjustable suspension that allows the car to be lowered by an additional 25 millimeters, a carbon rear spoiler, a rear diffuser with quadruple tailpipes for a louder exhaust systems made of titanium. Inside, Alcantara with carbon accents adorns the interior of the powerful sedan.
At the same event, BMW will also display the M3 Touring, M240i Coupé and electric i4 M50.
