After more than a year of development and testing, in two days Mercedes-AMG will present the latest generation of the C-Class, the C63, and the announcement was made with teaser photos.
The car is covered in light camouflage that covers some important places that Mercedes-AMG wants to keep as a surprise until the official premiere. It has already been announced that the new C63 will be powered by a 2.0L 4-cylinder turbo engine combined with a rear electric motor that will deliver a total of over 600 hp (441 kW). Power will be sent to all wheels via a 9-speed automatic transmission. It will hit 62 mph in 3.5 seconds which is faster than the current BMW.
This means that Mercedes-AMG has definitely given up on the V8 engine when it comes to the C63. Also, Mercedes-AMG will offer the C-Class as a station wagon. The car will be equipped with a set of 19-inch wheels with standard cast-iron brakes behind, a new rear diffuser, a 61 kWh battery, quad exhaust outlets, panamericana grille, full-width lower intakes and will use the standard C-class’s body.
The car was on display at the recent Goodwood Festival of Speed, but even then it was covered in light camouflage.
