Pagani has unveiled a limited edition of its most powerful open-top car, the Pagani Imola Roadster. It is a continuation of the story from the ‘Grandi Complicationazioni’ series, which started with the Imola Coupé model produced in only 5 examples.
The Imola Roadster is powered by AMG’s mid-mounted twin-turbocharged 6-liter V12 engine with 850 hp (634 kW) @ 5,600 rpm and 811 lb-ft (1,100 Nm) of torque from 3,600 to 5,600 rpm, which is enough to push car up to a top speed of 350 km/h (217 mph). Power is sent to the rear wheels via an Xtrac 7-speed sequential gearbox. It sits on ultra-lightweight 20/21-inch wheels wrapped in 265/30 R20 front and 355/25 R21 rear Pirelli P Zero Trofeo RS tires.
The car is based on the Huayra R racing model, and represents the evolution of the Huayra BC Roadster. It is made of light materials, Carbo-Titanium HP62-G2 and Carbo-Triax HP62, so its weight is only 1,260 kilograms. It is equipped with two enlarged front air intakes, dual outlet for warm air in the wheel arch and the side of the bumper, a better aerodynamic solution of the wheel arches that improve stability and better air flow towards the back, central fin, the air scoop and the supports of the rear wing connected to the hood, openings on the arches of the rear wheels for better air flow and cooling of the rear brakes, but also greater downforce.
Pagani has not announced how many examples of its best-performing open-top car it will produce, nor how much it will cost.
