In 1994, Nissan produced 30 units of the limited edition Nismo 270R, based on the Nissan S14 Silvia. This classic sports car is a collector’s item and recently one was destroyed by a fire department by throwing rocks at the car.
The incident occurred last year when Scolnick, displeased with the retention of rainwater between the fire station and the car owner’s property, hurled several buckets of rocks at a parked car. The owner reported the accident to the police, and the fireman pleaded guilty. The court ordered him to pay $7,973 in restitution.
The owner of the car (Mark Bahna) was selling the car before the accident and now the car is destroyed and he is asking for $500,000 in compensation. However, it is unlikely that he will get the requested amount because realistically the car is not worth that money. It has been modified and has over 130k on the odometer.
The Nismo 270R is powered by a 2.0-L inline-4 engine with 270 hp (198 kW) and 250 lb-ft (338 Nm) of torque, mated to a 5-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear wheels.
