The Nissan Altima has a 2.5-liter Direct Injection Gasoline 16-valve 4-cylinder engine that pairs with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT). This engine produces 188 horsepower and 180 pound-feet of torque. The optional turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder makes 248 hp. While Nissan touts the innovative variable-compression technology, only the 2.5-liter engine can be had with all-wheel drive.
