A rare VW T3 B32 with a Porsche engine is for sale

Regardless of which and how equipped it is, it’s hard to believe that a van can be worth €364,900 EUR ($364553 USD). However, one stands out in the crowd, and that is the Volkswagen Transporter. This is no ordinary van. It’s a Porsche in the body of a VW Transporter. Only seven examples of the VW T3 B32 model were produced, and one of them is for sale.

It all started in 1985 when Porsche engineers needed a quick way to transport spare parts for the 959 rally model during the Paris-Dakar rally. The not-so-fast Volkswagen T3 was not an option, as it could not keep up with Porsche’s needs, which is why they decided to create their own modified van.

First of all, they installed a 3.2 L Boxer 6 engine with 228 hp (170 kW) and 209 lb-ft (284 Nm) of torque, which could develop a top speed of 115 mph (185 kph). Power was transmitted to the rear wheels via a Porsche transmission. Also, the van received new suspension and new brakes.

The van was specially built for Peter W Schutz, the director of Porsche at the time, which is why it costs more than the other six. It has a Porsche serial number and is classified as a Porsche vehicle in German documentation. It was first registered in July 1988 and has 130,770 km (81,257 miles) on the odometer.
