In 2023, Porsche revealed a facelift version of its luxury crossover SUV, the Cayenne, and it was announced that the fourth generation of the SUV could be all-electric. Now it’s official.
Photos of the camouflaged car reveal a few minor changes such as large vertical vents on either side of the rear bumper, active vents up front and different light signatures. On the other hand, no major changes are expected in the cabin compared to the current version.
The fully electric Cayenne will be built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) platform, which Porsche developed in collaboration with Audi.
The new generation Cayenne will be powered by two electric motors with more than 640 hp. This means it will be more powerful than the current all-electric Porsche Macan, which uses the same PPE platform. It will have AWD, and thanks to the 800-V infrastructure, it will use fast chargers with a power of up to 270 kW.
The arrival of the all-electric Porsche Cayenne is expected by 2026. Also, Porsche has no intention of stopping offering the Cayenne with an internal combustion engine.
