Audi is testing a new SUV, although it has not yet introduced the Q4 E-Tron and Q4 Sportback E-Tron. The name is not known yet, it is assumed that the new Audi SUV will be named Q5 E-Tron, and its launch is expected in 2022.
According to the pictures, it seems that the EV will not have a lower front grille, which is understandable, because there is no internal combustion engine that needs cooling. Unlike the MLB-based E-Tron, the EV SUV has been developed on the PPE platform from the beginning, making it different from Audi’s Q offering. Audi is developing the PPE platform in collaboration with Porsche and will be introduced for the first time in the next-generation Porsche Macan.
The PPE platform offers greater wheelbase and better space for battery, air suspension, torque vectoring and rear wheel steering.
Single electric motor setups (rear wheel drive) and dual electric motor setups (AWD) are under development. The car will have a 350 kW battery. Fast charging capability has also been promised for the new platform.
Auto Bild states that a Coupe version of this car can also be expected. However, there is no official information about that yet.
