1951 Porsche 356 Pre-A is up for auction

In 1951, Porsche introduced the Pre-A version of its first production car, the 356, with 1,300 and 1,500 cc engines, more power, and a split window. It was produced until 1955, when it was replaced by version 356 A. Over 4,500 examples left the production line and one of them, the 1951 Porsche 356 Pre-A is up for auction.

The 356 Pre-A is powered by a replacement 1,500cc flat-four engine paired with a four-speed manual transmission, fitted with BBBC gears, that sends power to the rear wheels. The car sits on 16″ steel wheels wrapped in 5.00-16″ Excelsior radial tires.

The car is finished in Maroon (R 503) and is in good condition. It is equipped with slim body-color bumpers, Reutter-Stuttgart badging, Bosch headlights, a Hella third brake light and square taillights, dual exhaust outlets, and four-wheel drum brakes with cooling ribs.

Inside, Fibersteel Speedster-style seats are trimmed in gray vinyl with cloth inserts, and gray squareweave carpets cover the seat backs and floors. In front of the driver are a banjo-style steering wheel and a five-digit odometer showing 22,762 kilometers (total mileage unknown). Additional equipment includes map pockets, black sun visors, black rubber floor linings, and a six-volt Telefunken AM/SW tube radio. There are also wooden decorations that adorn the door caps and rear panels, while ivory-finished vehicle control knobs accent the dashboard.

The car is offered as part of the Gruppe P Part IV collection on dealer consignment in California with hand-written notes, a Karosserie Reutter Certificate of Production, a copy of the Kardex, and a Montana title.

It should also be noted that there is currently a lien on the car, and the current owner’s lender will need to be paid off before the title can be transferred to the new owner.

The auction ends on March 7 and the highest bid at the time of writing was $105,000 USD.

INEOS Fusilier – 4X4 vehicle with world-class off-road capabilities

The British company Ineos Automotive has announced its third model, the INEOS Fusilier. It is an electric 4X4 vehicle with world-class off-road capabilities.

Combining rugged British spirit with German engineering, the Fusilier is based on the Grenadier 4X4, but smaller in size. It is built on a bespoke skateboard platform with a steel top hat and underbody, with electric drive, but also with the option of a gasoline engine to extend the range.

“As we developed this vehicle, we quickly concluded that in order to move towards decarbonisation but continue making cars that consumers want to drive, we need a mix of powertrain technologies. BEVs are perfect for certain uses: shorter trips and urban deliveries, but industry and governments need to have realistic expectations around other technologies that can help accelerate the necessary pace of change,” said Sir Jim Ratcliffe, Chairman of INEOS.

The company has not released many details about this model, but according to the published photos, it can be guessed that it will be equipped with all-terrain tires, front underbody protection and high bumpers, while the hood and doors are reminiscent of the G-Class.

More information will be released by the end of 2024.

2025 McLaren Artura Spider

The McLaren Artura Spider is the new powerful car in the British car manufacturer’s fleet. It brings a number of aerodynamic improvements, 690 hp, and McLaren considers this model to be the most economical car in the fleet.

Artura Spider is powered by a 3.0-liter V6 engine combined with an electric motor with a total power of 690 hp (515 kW) and 531 lb-ft (720 Nm) of torque. That’s enough power to push the 1,457 kg car from 0 to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 3.0 seconds, 200 km/h (124 mph) in 8.4, and 300 km/h (186 mph) in 21.6 seconds, with a top speed of 330 km/h (205 mph). It is equipped with a 7.4 kWh battery that provides a range of 33 km (21 miles).

The Spider is 62 kg heavier than the Coupe model, and the company states that the difference is in the weight of the roof, which can be folded in 11 seconds at a speed of 50 km/h. The car is equipped with improved suspension, a new exhaust system (sport exhaust system is optional), new tailpipes, and has better handling.

In addition to improving aerodynamics, McLaren has also improved the cooling of the engine and brakes, and the ducts leading to the brake system allow for better and more consistent performance of the carbon-ceramic brakes at high speeds.

Inside, the driver-oriented interior is equipped with luxurious materials, a steering wheel free of buttons and controls, a functional driver’s display that hosts controls to select Handling and Powertrain modes with a stealth mode that hides non-essential content, reducing distractions and promoting full concentration on the road ahead . Customers can choose between Clubsport seats and electrically adjustable, heated comfort seats with memory.
