Ferrari SF90 destroyed in crash

Last week, photos and news were published on the Haden Cross Fire Station twitter profile that an unknown person crashed into a parked vehicle with a Ferrari SF90 and then fled the scene. It all happened in the suburbs of Birmingham (UK) and the Police are looking for the driver.

Ferrari SF90 is one of the most sought-after collector’s cars, owned by some of the most famous football (soccer) players such as Zlatan Ibrahimović. It is powered by a 4.0-liter V8 engine with 769 hp (566 kW) assisted by three electric motors with 217 hp (160 kW), which increase the total power to 986 hp (725 kW) and 590 lb⋅ft (800 Nm ) of torque. The electric motors are powered by a 7.9 kWh lithium-ion battery that provides a range of 16 miles. Reaches 62 mph in 62 mph in 2.5 seconds with a top speed of 211 mph (340 km / h).

A West Midlands police spokesman said the investigation was still ongoing. The owner of the car was found but they are still looking for a driver. “We’re investigating after a red Ferrari hit a number of parked cars in Hagley Road, Halesowen last night (Wednesday) at around 7:40 pm. We made a search of the area and spoke to a number of witnesses but were unable to locate the driver. The car has been seized and our work to identify and trace the driver continues. ”

What could have caused the accident? There are two most likely scenarios. The first is that the car was stolen and that the thief in an effort to escape, crashed the car. Another scenario is that the driver was under the influence of alcohol and fled to avoid punishment. Whatever the reason, repair will not be cheap. The value of the Ferrari SF90 is estimated at around £ 500,000.

Mercedes-AMG One has arrived

Mercedes-AMG premiered its powerful concept in 2017 at the Frankfurt Motor Show. But no one even thought that the development, testing and problem solving, on the hybrid “beast” that comes with the Formula 1 engine, would take five years. Now, it seems that AMG has finally managed to solve all the technical problems, because the Mercedes-AMG One has arrived.

The Mercedes-AMG One is powered by a 1.6-liter Formula 1 V6 turbo engine with 566 hp (422 kW) at 11,000 rpm. Combined with four electric motors, the One has a total of 1,049 hp (771 kW). That’s enough power for this supercar to reach 62 mph in 2.9 seconds, 124 mph (200 km / h) in less than six seconds with a top speed of 217 mph (350 km / h). The engine is paired with a 7-speed gearbox. And yes, the engine meets Euro 6 standards.

Weighing 1,695 kilograms, the hybrid plug-in without the assistance of an internal combustion engine can cover almost 20 kilometers.

And while the public is waiting for the production Mercedes-AMG One to show its potential on the Nürburgring Nordschleife, all 275 copies have already been sold out. Each buyer paid $ 2.7 million (€ 2.34 million) for one of the fastest cars on the road.

All-electric BMW iX1

The new all-electric iX1 comes from BMW. It is a new generation X1 crossover that is still in the development phase, and which is expected to hit the market at the end of this year. At the beginning, it will only be offered as the xDrive30 model.

Although it looks like the X1 at first glance, the iX1 has been given new styling elements such as a slightly modified front grille surrounded by blue details, new bumpers and LED lights similar to those on the 3 Series, making the new model look powerful. Blue details can also be seen on the sides of the door as well as on the rear bumper.

The car has a larger wheelbase. Compared to the X1, the new crossover is 53mm longer, 24mm wider and 44mm taller, with a luggage space capacity of 540 liters. Inside, the seats are upholstered in burgundy leather which in combination with black leather can be seen on the door panels and dashboard. In front of the driver, there is a steering wheel covered with black leather and a digital touch screen, so the manual buttons have been removed.

The BMW iX1 is one of the most powerful members of the third generation X1 family. It is powered by two electric motors with a total power of 313 hp (230 kW) and 364 lb-ft (494 Nm) of torque. With all-wheel drive, the car reaches 62 mph in 5.7 seconds. Thanks to the 64.7 kWh battery, the iX1 has a range of 438 km. The battery supports BMW’s latest charging technology and new software that also uses the BMW i7, which means that DC charging of up to 130 kW is enabled, ie the battery can be charged up to 70 percent of capacity in 29 minutes.
