Goodbye DriveTribe

After five years of existence, DriveTribe is becoming a thing of the past. The reason is the reduction in the income of automobile companies caused by the global problem of microchip shortage, which results in less money for marketing. As one of the founders, James May, stated, “But ultimately, this is a business, and businesses are being kicked in the nads by everything that’s going on in the world.”

Jeremy Clarkson also spoke on the occasion, saying: “We’re all really disappointed that challenges in the industry – not least helped by the ongoing pandemic – have simply made it impossible to continue with the business in its current form.”

Richard Hammond has invited everyone to join him on his social media channels, where he will continue to collaborate with famous DriveTribe faces.

Business luck seems to have turned its back on the famous trio. After the end of the collaboration on the Top Gear project, it came to an end for DriveTribe as well.

2022 Hyundai i20 N WRC with 500 hp

In this season’s World Rally Championship, Hyundai will compete with a hybrid i20 N WRC model that, in combination with an electric motor, will deliver 500 hp.

The car will be powered by a 1.6-liter four-cylinder turbo gasoline engine with 366 hp (269 kW) combined with an electric motor with 134 hp (98 kW), so drivers will have 500 hp (368 kW) available for a limited time. The car is equipped with a 3.9 kWh battery. Power will be transmitted to all wheels via a five-speed transmission.

The hybrid i20 N WRC weighs 1,260 kg, which is 70 kilograms more than the model used by Hyundai last season. In this way, Hyundai has offered an answer to the electrification of the WRC car that was announced last year, and will be applied from this year’s World Rally Championship, which starts on January 20 in Monte Carlo.

The Nissan R35 GT-R pulls a semi truck on an icy road

Snow on the road is a problem for every driver, creating difficult or completely impossible driving conditions, especially for truck drivers. A truck driver from Bosnia found himself in such a problem, but he was helped by the driver of a powerful Nissan R35 GT-R.

A professional truck driver from Bosnia with a Volvo FH truck, on his way home through the Austrian Tyrol, stopped at one point due to snow and ice on the road. Seeing that the truck driver was in trouble, the driver of a Japanese sports car, also known as Godzilla, decided to help.

The rescue was successful, and the truck driver was certainly surprised by the power of the Nissan R35 GT-R. This is no coincidence, as the Nissan R35 GT-R is powered by a 3.8-liter twin-turbo V6 engine tuned by Madisma Performance. It is not known how much horsepower the engine has, as the company offers a power increase from 650 hp to 1000 hp.

The Nissan GTR Nismo also uses the same engine with 600 hp (441 kW) and 481 lb-ft (652 Nm) of torque. The engine is paired with a 6-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission with manual shifting mode. It reaches 60 mph in 3 seconds and 100 mph in 6.9 seconds.
