Although with only one electric vehicle, Bentley plans to switch to electric vehicle production by 2030. The first step was the introduction of another hybrid, the Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid.
It is a completely new model with three driving modes: Hybrid, Hold and EV Drive. It will be powered by a 2.9-liter V6 engine with a total power of 536 hp and 553 lb-ft (750 Nm) of torque. The V6 engine will deliver 410 hp while the rest of the power will be produced by an electric motor located between the transmission and the petrol engine. It will reach 62 mph in 4.1 seconds with a top speed of 177 mph (285 km / h), which is a good result for a car that is only 110 pounds (50 kg) heavier than the V8 Flying Spur.
The electric motor will be powered by a 14.1 kWh battery that provides a range of 25 miles (40 km). The car uses a standard 20-inch set of tires, while 21/22-inch tires are optional.
The exterior of the Flying Spur Hybrid is almost the same as other Bentley models. Inside, a new 12.3-inch touchscreen display and digital instrument panel are installed. For this model, Bentley offers 7 body color options.
The Bentley Flying Spur Hybrid at U.S. the market is coming in 2022, and the price is currently unknown.
