Nigel Mansell’s 1991 Williams FW14 is for sale

At the 1991 British Grand Prix, Nigel Mansell finished as the winner, and Senna won the title, his third and last. But this race will be remembered for the scene in which Mansell drives Senna after his car ran out of fuel in the last lap. It is this Williams FW14 that will be sold at an auction to be held in May 2022 in Monte Carlo, Monaco.

That season Nigel Mansell finished second with 72 points, 24 points less than World Champion Senna. In the constructors’ competition, McLaren-Honda won the title and Williams-Renault took second place. After the end of the 1991 season, the car was donated to Mansell and remained in his collection. Still, Williams FW14 will soon get a new owner.

The car is in excellent condition with the original color scheme, Camel’s yellow, blue and white, as well as sponsor advertisements including Canon, Labatt’s, Renault, Elf, Goodyear and Magneti Marelli.

When it comes to powertrain, the engine was removed from the car after the end of the season when the car was donated to Nigel Mansell. So, the car is not in driving condition, but it will be an expensive exhibit for a big Mansell fan or Formula 1 in general. It is expected that at the auction, the car will reach a price between 1.5 and 3 million euros.
